Evidently Oklahoma Sooners' sophomore cornerback Dominique Franks forgot rule number one of high stakes football games. Earlier today, Franks was quoted as saying "If you look at the three best quarterbacks in the country, they came from the Big 12. The three best receivers in the country came from the Big 12. The three best tight ends came from the Big 12. So we've faced some great offenses, and a lot of people don't understand that other conferences don't have what we face."
How many times have we seen someone (Jerremy Stevens comes to mind...also Joey Porter...and DeAngelo Hall...and Chad Johnson) lash out at their next week's opponent in a meaningful game, only for their team to lose, and for the player who made the comments to be utterly humiliated (okay, so that one was just Hall, but you get the point). Not only were Franks' comments not the most intellegent ones to make, but it's apparent that Franks (as well as the Heisman Trophy committee and ESPN) forgets how good Tim Tebow has been over the past two seasons. We here at the Two Minute Drill remember that Tebow was the Heisman Trophy winner two years ago (despite our protests for Colt Brennan and Darren McFadden), and should have been the winner this year (all apologies to Sam Bradford). I can't help but see this game ending ugly in favor of the Gators.
In other news, I hate the San Diego Chargers.
I will give one accolade to ESPN.com, as they've decided to continue their whole Streak for Cash game. Even after the cash streak contest is over, I'd love to see this continue as a game you can play on ESPN.com.
Tim Kilkenny of Radio Revolution (also of TMD) will be having a U2 mini-marathon on January 13th from 8-11am. Bono and his obnoxiously large glasses have foiled yet another one of my attempts for world domination, so I shall now reveal my next (though smaller scale) plan. Next time there's a poll on the Radio Revolution site about a music marathon, I encourage the TMD readers to mass vote a certain band to victory (band to be named at a later date). This is similar to the "Black Hole Radio" theory we tested out by mass requesting Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" at Toledo's 106.5FM The Zone back in October.

that was a great idea about Black Hole Sun, it would've shown how corporate the radio's become...however I would've chosen the listeners request Free Bird just to really piss them off lol
black hole theory sounds cooler though
What's not corporate? I always say if you don't like what they are doing get into it. They need new radio sportscasters, too. Radio Connection trains you where you want to be trained around your schedule.

i'm not sure whether or not your comment was an advertisement, but then again what isn't these days...you bring up a valid point though
